If you look in our hall way, right now, you will see many things not needed.  Playmobil toys are not needed.  Old clothes are not needed.  Baby books are not needed.  The toy box, itself, is not needed.   Latest fashions are not needed.  Fancy shoes are not needed.  Ipods are never mentioned.   What is needed?  Organization, self confidence, more wool, clean sheets, and a grappling hook.   Our daughter feels she needs a grappling hook and she wonders if, perhaps, her father and brother might forge one for her.   She is busy making room in her room for the woman she is becoming.    A woman with a hand forged grappling hook.

Oh I'm laughing. A woman with chocolate AND a grappling hook is definitely prepared for anything. Gosh, she's so herself. love, Val

I had to google grappling hook, I admit. But when I saw it I realized I had always wanted one as a child too. And of course, chocolate! What a cool kiddo. :0)

Sort of sad about the playmobil though... Personally, I'll be sad when my kids don't need them anymore. I love those little toys probably more than I should.

Candy, I totally thought of you when I wrote that. I solved the problem. I took her toy box and put it down stairs. Its a nice wicker basket. I have two, actually. One holds duplo blocks. The other will hold all the playmobil. These and the American Girl dolls will be the "grandmother" toys I keep in my house forever. Who could send away playmobil? If I was going to get rid of them, I'd mail them to you. muah, K

I almost cried, but also rejoiced at this post. Parallel lives. I looked around the other day and realized the stuffed toys have not been touched in eons. That the little playhouse toys were things of yesterday. Ms. D has been coming down from LONG times in the bathroom. Playing w/her hair. And "What is on your face?" "Oh, I just tried to wash off the make up I put on..." "Make-up?" "ya, just playing..." Oh. Oh. My baby. My wee girlio. At the same time, she has a strength of personality I am envious of. She knows who she is and it makes me swell with pride.

A grappling hook? Chocolate? Go, Ry, go forth!
