I guess I've been doing this long enough that Blogger put Our Report Card into the "next blog" line up.  So my stats have gone through the roof.  Everyday people hit this site from all over the world.   And .......... this does nothing for my ego - as it has nothing to do with the quality of what is already written.  It does nothing for my motivation to write.  And it kind of freaks me out.  I like the open dialog aspect of blogging.  But generally speaking, previously, folks here had a reason to be here.  Now, its a parade of total strangers.  If I were selling anything, this would be very good.  But I'm not selling anything here.  Except maybe the idea that every citizen should own a cow or a dairy goat and a few chickens.  And most children would be better off homeschooled.  But that's just my own quirky opinion, here on my own quirky blog.  If those ideas intrigue you, read on.  If not .............. um .............. wanna buy some ............... knitted baby sweaters?  or eggs?  or raw milk?  Or an old cat?  Hey, I've got a bag of thrift shop donations around here.  Maybe I'll turn Our Report Card into Our Online Thrift Shop?  ....that could work....

Please send me a cow, two chickens and a blue knitted cardigan, size XL.

Will that all be arriving UPS?

I can relate to this...in an odd way. I just started blogging a couple months ago and only have a few readers. This is fine...I blog for myself anyway. I can't imagine suddenly having an onslaught of strangers reading my words. I think your additutde is very inspiring. I love coming here. Oh, and if only our city by-law didn't prohibit chickens. I want them so bad.

Ami, there will be a cow in your mailbox next week! :o)

And Debbie, thank you. Too bad about no chickens.

Ahem - sometimes no one in the city notices the chickens. :)

And I can just see you starting an Etsy shop to sell raw milk products over the internet!

K, in the settings section you can opt out of the next blog thing and also out of search engines, if you want.

I set those to no for the exact reasons you say, a random parade of strangers... no thanks.

people i know, and friends of my friends, totally.

But your blog is so much fun in every way. I hope some of those strangers stick around and see the world through your eyes. love, V

Hi well since you into opinions,
Mine is that I'm thankful to have stumbled across this blog. I'm encouraged and sad that we don't live closer to your family. You can check our blog and see that we have similar ideas. Keep it up xo

Well, if being on "next blog" makes new friends, then I say God Bless it. But it still feels odd. But then who am I kidding? Blogging IS odd! :o)

Welcome McQuade. I'm off to check out your new site.
