Yesterday we made snow globes. Total Fun! The kids loved it.

There Is No Uncaring In Unschooling
"He'd fooled us. He'd been learning all along--we just hadn't been able to see it because it didn't follow from our "teaching." It came from doing, sharing, and observing, from osmotically absorbing what was around him. I recalled that he once said to Mark, who was giving him snowboard instruction, "Dad, would you stop trying to teach me and just let me learn?"

They're lovely. :)
The snow globes are, too.
Did you use water or mineral oil? Inquiring minds want to know.
How fun! What a perfect winter project.
You can use mineral oil or glycerin. Also, it appears that baby-food jars are being phased out in favor of little plastic tubs. Well, this is so wrong on so many different levels its hard to wrap your mind around. But hurry, and get some before they are gone.
We learned that less glitter is actually better. And we learned that you need a nice light but opaque glitter. Unless you're going for a darker -halloweenish- snow globe, like Henry.
Hope that helps. :)
wow me and my gal pal pitita were gobbling up holiday snow globes at at thrift store the other day because her daughter olive is obsessed with them...now we can take it to the next level and make our own. I would have never known about the mineral oil or glycerin part...thanks for the great idea!!
I love how each of their globes is so them. Too cute, I love it.
Also, I really appreciate the ornaments on the plant. A very nice decorative touch. :)
Oh sister, we are FEST-TIVE! That's Ry's little tree she's been growing since last Christmas. It was her idea to decorate it.
