A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Katherine - that is an amazing selection from MLK. You feel the connection of it all, don't you? It's so deep. So much.

I expected to be giddy today. Instead I find myself pondering and processing this incredible message our voices have raised.

Oh, Katherine, thanks for this post! All the marching and registering and speaking-and-voting-my-conscience have paid off for us all with a man of character and vision.

And now the WORK begins; we all have heavy lifting to do.

That's an awesome selection. Not the usual stuff we keep hearing over and over. Something fresh, new, different and incredible relevant.

What a beautiful Post. I am so touched on this day. I'm so grateful that WE THE PEOPLE have been heard. It has been such a long time coming. And melanie is right, "And now the WORK begins; we all have heavy lifting to do" Thanks All :>)
