"Welly Welly," said T. And I'm saying it too. Welly welly. Well well. Well now.

The blog did not die. But it is changing. Expect much less of the children and much more drivel from me. That should send most of you packing off to a more interesting place.

For those remaining, here is the big new idea. Our family is going to publish a small quarterly magazine. We are still very much in the planning stages. It will be mostly by and for the children and as such may be titled: Homeschooling Voices. But other names are still up for consideration. I like the name Freakademics as well. Once we settle on a name, I will get a website and email address set up. Then we will call for submissions.

What jolly fun, eh? Boat building was set aside until we are a bit older and until our working budget is more flexible. And truthfully, it would appear that I was the only one who actually wanted to build a boat. (Well, I and Cecelia.) Forcing lessons which represent no real interest may be the cardinal sin for unschoolers. So, boats begone. We are writers, editors, and publishers now. (Someone is going to have to edit. Clearly, that won't be me. Thankfully, Henry is a far better speller.) And our school agenda for fall is falling into place.

Yay. Oh yay! Your "drivel" is what makes this an interesting place for me. And the magazine sounds intriguing too! So glad your voice is still here.

TBH, I never saw this as a blog about your kids. I certainly enjoyed the snapshots of their life moments, but I come here first and foremost for *your* voice. Your posts on education, personal growth, all of them - I am glad that that will still be happening.

Good luck with the newsletter! Sounds cool.

Phew!
I am relieved!
I just found your blog and have been reading in reverse dreading to find the first post and have no more to read. I find your writing very nourishing, inspiring, and generally wonderful, and it is certainly your voice that makes it so.

I'm happy

by the way I read your post about the soap oops from a while back. I am not sure if this is what happened to your batch but when you make hot process soap it curdles like that before it gels and is finished saponifying. Not that it helps at this point!

Hey! What a great idea...will you take submissions?

Also, speaking of boat - if you just want a boat, to learn HOW to boat, we have a sunfish rotting away in our yard....on a trailer and everything. Want it?

Xenia, a little sunfish? Sure I want it. But I bet I can teach you how to use it. I grew up sailing those cute little boats. It would take me awhile to remember... Cecelia grew up on the water too. I think her dad was a competitive sailor? I know she could teach all of us plenty!
