There Is No Uncaring In Unschooling
Yesterday I decided to paint. I painted nothing much, for no good reason other than to model painting. This enticed a kid to the table, which, of course, was the real point. We painted with Max, the visiting Bearded Dragon, watching over our progress.
Artists can be weird and shy, yet,
thoughtful people.
Meanwhile, scholars are busy.
Too engrossed in their work to stop for painting.

It came from doing, sharing, and observing, from osmotically absorbing what was around him. Years back, I bought some of that cardboard canvas stuff. We used them all up in less than a week. Then the girls moved on to painting ... other things. Cut up cardboard boxes, glass marbles (which make a really cool project with paint when you roll them around on paper btw), clothes, etc. Riley has an awesome mobile hanging in her room made from painted bits of a Pepsi box. So much fun. Chad says painting is for girls. :P
