Henry comes downstairs this morning and tells us:

"I woke up last night about 12:30. It was so bright outside I thought it was morning. So I came downstairs and did some Italian lessons for a while. Then I looked at the clock and saw it was after 1 in the morning! I slapped my forehead and went back to bed."

I think that he's so into these lessons, he got excited and woke up. He really loves them. He's completed, like, 6 lessons or so. I'm not certain because I'm not tracking him. But today in the grocery store he called me La Donna and asked if we were going to get peche sticks. I was all, like, listen up you....you...you.....what's the name for boy in Italian?....you...KID, listen up you Italiano, what's a peche?" Inside, I'm glowing. One of the best things about homeschool is being around when they catch a fire. And I love the idea of him creeping downstairs to work on his own. That's a kid getting bigger and older and more motivated.

Awesome. Kickass awesome.

How might those lessons be going if you had required them? LOVE that about homeschooling, that you can let them take off on something they're actually interested in, and learn like maniacs.

Ha! That's so neat. What made him want to learn Italian, as opposed to any other language? Heritage? Going to travel there?

I've recently been trying to find a way for us to learn French as a family. I'm guessing this program is better for those older than my daughter but perhaps it's worth looking into for me!
