There Is No Uncaring In Unschooling
"He'd fooled us. He'd been learning all along--we just hadn't been able to see it because it didn't follow from our "teaching." It came from doing, sharing, and observing, from osmotically absorbing what was around him. I recalled that he once said to Mark, who was giving him snowboard instruction, "Dad, would you stop trying to teach me and just let me learn?"

ah, little girls. there is just nothing like 'em.
Dang it. Some days just start like that, don't they? Luckily, our kids have the ability to change the ways their days will unfold numerous times before the sun sets. That gives me hope.
Girls, they start young with the attitude...I am so thrilled about your Canadian adventure.
Pop by the Cafe, have a crazy award that I feel my fellow moms may especially be able to relate to...I am not giving it out, you have to snag it, as I shall not judge, lest I be judged. :)
I wish I'd said "it all adds up on a person, ya know" because I think she was jut having one of those days. Also, her mouth really was hurting. That tooth fell out last night. Now she is missing her two front teeth. I wish she could stay like that FOREVER. She's so cute (yes, and sassy) I could eat her up. I think too, that 6/7 is as difficult as the "terrible twos" no matter which gender.
How have I missed your blog before? I've enjoyed lurking here today, and this post reminds me of my girl so much. She is six and is already so sentimental. I love your photo of uneaten breakfast, it catches the mood well.
