Apparently Marilyn Monroe has a famous quote: "Ever notice how What The Hell is so often the right answer?" And in that spirit I think I am going to paint my kitchen pink. A lighter shade of raspberry. I google/imaged and found this example. Aunt Casey, notice the ceiling? That made me think of you. Imagine if it were apricot. Doesn't that look like an excellent place to drink coffee and feed minions?

My kitchen is pink.
I didn't really know the paint was pink, which sounds strange. We did sponge painting in the bathroom, and had a gallon+ of the base color left over. Next to the other two pinks, it didn't look pink at all, it looked beige-y. When we painted the kitchen, we didn't have a whole lot of money and didn't want to waste the paint we had. Turns out, it was pink. But pale. It actually looks really good with the 50's tomato pink countertops. I say go for it. I could have said that in fewer words.

Marilyn's quote is funny and true. I'm glad you found a color that works for you.

Love the idea. In my experience, you never regret colours you feel drawn to. But then again, I have an ultra-orange kitchen so I may be crazy and bent on taking you with me...

Hey hsing3kinder, I saw your kitchen. WOW! What an excellent transformation. I love it. I see that you took down wall paper. I did too. Did you actually wash the wall after you took the paper down? Or did you strip, prime, and repaint? Thanks for pointing out your post. That was inspiring. I love the brightness. And the freshness. And the modern look of these loud colors. K

We did wash down the walls, because that wallpaper was a freakin' beast.
Have fun!!!
