Little Elfie and the Egg of Envy
One day Little Elfie went skipping through the forest. He took a shovel with him. He was digging until he hit something in the ground and it made a loud thud so he carefully took it out. It was a little box. In side the box was a little egg. The egg made him feel greedy. Just then he heard his mom calling him. So he dropped the egg and ran towards his mom until he got to her. As soon as he had gotten in bed he felt sick. His mother asked him, "What were you playing at today in the forest." Little Elfie replies, "I was digging and I hit something hard and I took it out and it was a little egg with glitter all over it." Then his mother said, "Oh my." She went out the door. When she came back she told him that was the egg of envy. The egg enabled people to live. If it was smashed or broken people would become sick or die. But now that his mom had glued the egg back together he went down and buried it. Then he went home and sat down eating his pancakes and cutting the cheese all night long!
Another Elfie play written, directed, and performed by the children. Note, The Elfie Shows always have the same ending. They are always staged in the bathtub. No one knows why.
Also, that thing on the narrator's head? The first and only sock I ever knit. Ya think its too big?

What great story telling!
Love the sock. If you just told people it was an elf hat, no one would know it was supposed to be a sock.
And I think the bathtub is the perfect place to stage a play. There's a curtain and everything.
Eating pancakes and cutting the cheese? You've spent an evening with my family, haven't you?
Suddenly, I'm so sad. Do only children put on plays?
The sock would make a great Christmas stocking for the kitten, assuming you celebrate and are crazy enough to give the kitten a Christmas stocking.
