Riley: Pipilongstocking is so strong it is annoying!

Riley: Because when anyone gets in trouble she has to fix it: "Oh, we will bring you food, we will find your treasure, we will stop the pirates."
Me: Oh, so her fearlessness gets her into trouble?
Riley Rose: YES!

While I completely understand the irony, I think I'm siding with your daughter on this one. Pippi always annoyed me too. Not because she was fearless, but because she was *pushy* and bossy, constantly taking control of a situation nobody even asked her advice about. And isn't carrying that horse around over her head just a teeny bit showy? It's one thing to be strong, but you don't have to be ridiculous about it.
ditto that pippi annoyed me...so dang cheerful, too.
well, perhaps it's an age thing as my daughter just said of Charlotte's Web...."I think Fern went way overboard on the whole pig thing. I mean did she have to bathe and dress him?"
I'm thinking of it as an oral book report.
