Dissecting Owl Pellets

One of the rockitudinous things about homeschooling is that you get to learn along side your kids. Look at my husband. (I have SUCH a crush on him. Isn't he cute?) He had as much fun as the kids. I, on the other hand, want to barf when I think about owl pellets. Appropriate word choice, don't cha think? I stayed about this far away from the pellet project:

We dissected owl pellets last summer. We had so much fun identifying different bones and bits. I got past my ickophobia by convincing myself everything in there had been "cleaned" by acids, completely ignoring WHERE the acids were when they were working away. It was like unearthing a treasure instead of rummaging through regurgitated owl food.

Yeah, I'd be right there with you. I'm not much into anything that's been reguritated or otherwise emitted post-digestion.

Love the new layout, btw. :)

I notice though, that I avoid the "icky" just like a "girl" might. It's one of the values of this blog, seeing a pattern like that.

Thanks about the layout. Fancy and grown up, ooooh la la.
