Cotton rainbow yarn. Who can resist?

Dear Knitting Daughter has set a goal for herself. Any of you who know me can see right quickety away that this is unschooling at it's finest. I certainly did not teach her to set goals. I am not sure I had ever heard of the concept until she brought it to my attention. She is knitting a scarf and she has set herself the task of completing 7 rows a day until she is finished. A smart plan and a worthy goal. I like it. So, I have decided to sit and knit with her. I may not be a natural goal setter myself but I am very supportive. Together we are making some progress.
My first wee booties. Felted lamb's wool with an alpaca silk blend for the cuffs. So soft. So tiny.

Well, there is new baby on the way in our extended family. Maybe that baby. Maybe I'll start on a secret "hope chest" for my sister who surely wants to have a baby someday.

If you jinx me by starting a hope chest i will never forgive you. those booties are for dustin's baby!

Ok, those booties are for Dustin's baby. Sister, I will not buy, make, or even plan ANYTHING for your future possible babies until you say I can. Deal?

Katherine,
My 6 yod wouldl ove to learn how to knit and I know nothing about it. Aside from finding a knitting mom (only can think of one off the top of my head...) do you have anyother recommendations?
thanks! ~ Kris
