I think Poppins (see link below) is so excellent and so inspiring. Her blog has inspired me to set up an Art Card trading group with our local homeschool group. I posted this:

Art Cards are tiny pieces of art you make on index cards. Then you trade them with friends. I thought this might be a wonderful thing for the adults to do, for the children to see, and then for the children to do as well. Many of our kids are into trading figures and cards, many of them are into art. This seems like a natural thing for them. I feel itchy to create art. But I am not an artist, you see. And since I might guess many of you will say you are not artists either we can all be not-artists together. Sound fun? Doesn't thea seem like the perfect place to trade art cards? There are websites for art cards. People do make, trade, and sell them online. But it seems perfect for a cool homeschooling community like ours. And a nice thing to model for the children. A living unschooling art class, if you like. Anyone interested?

And within 10 seconds a mom from our group has replied that she is into this idea! Yay! An exciting project. I'll post our progress here. Thanks Poppins!

You're welcome! I am so in love with ATCs - I like to make them since they're tiny blank canvases are not at all threatening. I like to get them, since they're made in all sorts of ways, and I love to send them, thinking of all the tiny artiness winging through the postal system.

Oooh...I just found your post about the ART CARDS. Great idea! My son and I tried this once with our family. We mailed post cards out to each member and sent them some to decorate and return to us. The art card idea is even better.
